Thank you so much for writing about “the ten dollar founding father.” Your acclaimed Grammy, Tony award-winning, Pulitzer Prize musical Hamilton has not only educated but inspired thousands of people, including me.
I’m sure you get lots of fan mail, and I’m not even sure this will reach you, but I want people in the blogging community to know how special you are to me. I’m mostly German, and a little bit English. I’m proud of my heritage, proud that I am a product of immigrants. We all are immigrants, in one way or another, and immigrants “get the job done.”
Thank you for using a modern cast for such a historically based musical. It’s refreshing to see people of color portraying such powerful and important historical figures. Too often I’ve seen white people on stage, and often wish that there was more diversity in the town where I live.
I really wish that I could’ve seen you portray Alexander Hamilton, but our summer play date was after you left the cast of the show to be in Mary Poppins Returns. I forget the man’s name, but he did an excellent job portraying Hamilton.
Hamilton is fun, funny, and clever. Your words weave together important tapestries, the choreography was flawless, and the music was beautiful. My family and I had the pleasure of seeing Hamilton in New York a few years ago, and we loved every minute. Everything was perfect, from the clothes to the stage directions. It was truly a wonder to behold.
Thank you for creating something utterly original and relevant. I’m excited to see what you do next! You’re incredibly talented!
Sincerely,
Meghan B.
